Thank you so much for another absolutely awesome edition of the world’s best trail run… Looking up and out at the landscape, mountains and beautiful blue ocean as I ran, it’s all just so magnificent, and I said on the trail, a real blessing to be able to share in this special day with all the wonderful trail people. – Rupert

I just wanted to thank you for letting me share in the day with everybody on Saturday past. It was a fantastic experience – tough but very worthwhile! Thanks once again for your great organization and hospitality! – Brendan

Thank you for organising this wonderful day on the mountains, yet again! And we did it! Jen and I are so proud of ourselves, but actually your beautiful trophy is totally worth it! Such a wonderful family spirit, it’s true. – Cathy

It was a fantastic day on the mountains, as usual, and I really enjoyed it.  I will definitely be back next year. – Liz

Thanks for yet another great day on the Mountain – it was a tough one but by now most of us know we just have to pace ourselves. This is definitely a special event because of the people and the spirit in which it is done. Thanks again for all you put into it. – Marius

Thanks for an awesome day out!! Thank you for the effort and opportunity you give us to spend together on such amazing trails! – Justin

You’re the champ for giving us Triple Trouble – it’s such a winner of an event, and yes, the fact that it’s small and under the radar is exactly why it’s so very loved! So thank you! – Linda

Awesome day again, and thanks so much for organising. I look forward to negotiating my 50th celebrations around next year’s run! – Paul

Thanks for an excellent event. It was tough but very rewarding, and although I still have some muscles on strike, I’ll certainly be entering in the future. You, your support team and all runners have made us feel like part of a very special group of people! Enjoy the recovery and look forward to seeing you out on the mountain. – Sean

Thanks again for organizing a cracker of a run! Really had a great time in the heat! – Damian

Thanks Eric. One of the most beautiful days of my life. I absolutely loved it. – Gerard

Thank you for hosting another successful event. It was really great and thanks for the abuse. I look forward to it every year. I was told by Dougie Roussow: “Only cool people get ripped off” – Mark

Despite the heat, the run was an amazing challenge in the company of a great collection of like minded trail enthusiasts. Thanks so  much for putting it together again. And thanks so much for the very special trophy. I did not expect anything and it came as a lovely surprise. – Neil

Thank you very much! It was an awesome day out, really enjoyed being part of it all, reminds you of the awesome community we are part of. Thank you for allowing me to be part of it! Definitely one I will be back for! –  Justin

Thanks so much for another fantastic Triple Trouble yesterday.  I had an amazing run and loved every minute of it. –  Liz

Just wanted to thank you for yet again putting on a fantastic, low key event that delivered the hurt in spades. I knew coming into the race that my body wasn’t in the most rested state, but I had a superb time and enjoyed the trails. –  Lucas

Just wanted to thank you again for a magic day on Triple Trouble yesterday! Always an awesome event, in every respect – great route, wonderful trophies, great company of like-minded individuals, and this must be the only event in the country where one is congratulating the leading runners as they dash past but they also take the time to congratulate us as we slog upwards….Truly a magic event, and I really enjoyed yesterday. Hope you got to watch the rugby – even that was pretty good so all in all an excellent day….! –  Guy

Somehow the atmosphere of friendship and the chance to reconnect with trail runners we so often meet in passing, somewhere in our Peninsular mountain playground, makes the Triple Trouble a real treat. This has already wiped my memory of the pain of spending 9 hours out on the trail in my slowest ever Triple time!! Thank you, a very special event. And of course having now done 9, I am now obliged to try and complete a number 10 in 2018.  Thanks so much Eric.  – Neil

I loved the way the event was organised and the encouragement from everyone. I think more races should be organised like this, to bring back that authenticity. Till next year :)  – Oriole

Thank you so much for organising it. I had such a great time. It’s nice and very chilled. I like the vibes and relaxing fun time afterwards. I finished hungry so I ate a lot :) Now I understand what friends who told me about this meant. It really is something else. I will be back. – Koji

Thank you. This was my first Triple Trouble and I loved it, had such fun on a stunning route. What a fantastic group of runners with the low key…just run and enjoy it vibe:) I will definitely be there next year so please add me to 2018 list. Love the the finishers trophies, so unique. Regards. – Philippa Humphreys

What an awesome event. I can’t believe I have not done it before.  Such awesome vibe at the finish.  I will definitely be back next year…  Many Thanks. –Dale Symons

Thank you so much for putting on this event, being new to Trail Running and Cape Town, it was an incredible experience to be a part of in my new home suburb. – Sophia

A big thank you for yet another awesome day out on the mountains! I recently had time (about 7.5 hours!) to think about what makes it different from another trail race and decided this event was different because it is actually a bunch of friends running together – not a race. In a normal race, I see the winners before the start, the race starts and the next day I read about who won – i.e. the winners run away from the rest of us. However in Triple Trouble, you might not know everyone/anyone at the start… but by the end you are running with friends and chatting to each other. Sure, you might not know everyone’s name by the end the end, but you cant help but get to know a few more people after passing everyone 3 times…  I have decided my chances of ever getting one of those gold plated trophies are slim, so have my sights set on getting a 10 year trophy like Brian did – only 5 to go! Thanks again. – Alistair

Thanks go to you for such an amazing event, and to repeat my comments from three years ago, for maintaining its uniqueness and commorardy. Agree, the three tops guys Kodak moment says it all. Knew I was going in severely undertrained but so hungry for my 5th, after a two year lay off. It is no doubt the best permanent number handout, am so chuffed,  thank you for your talent in making them. Best. –Frankie

A big thank you for being able to take part in this amazing day out in the mountains of beautiful Hout Bay. It was my first Triple – hopefully not my last – and I enjoyed every moment of it. (OK, except maybe for the tar road sections up to Suikerbossie and Chappies….. :-) The down wasn’t that bad….)Thank you so much for all your organizing and for the lovely trophy and sweater. Please put my name down on next year’s waiting list! – Rina van der Merwe

It was such fun to get a taste of what the ‘race’ vibe is like, and I enjoyed my time of connecting with ‘CEO’ Mike and ‘Headmaster’ Jonathan – and of course your amazing runners. It really does seem to be a most wonderful event, testimony to your generosity, creativity and genial spirit. Congratulations! – Sandy

Thanks again for organizing the Triple Trouble it was an amazing day on the Mountains.  I really think we should be allocating more points to the chocolate brownie chef :)Richard Wagener

Thank you Eric, for a really great run! Cathey

Thanks so much for the awesome opportunity to participate again! It’s amazing how the day lingers in your mind, memory and your body for a long while after. It is absolute magic and thanks to you for making it all possible for us. And the trophies are so incredible! Wow! Thanks again. – Brenda

again next year so that I can complete number 10. Brian

A huge thank you for an absolutely amazing run, I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to do it again next yr it’s definitely going down as one of my favourite runs, and the shirts are stunning :-) Marcy

Thanks for a great day yesterday it really is a wonderful event and it always attracts such a friendly group of runners . I hope you put it on again next year so that I can complete number 10. Brian

Thank you for the awesome event. Very special event, enjoy the small field and emphasis on fun and enjoyment. Erik

Thanks for the special mention. Dougie summed it up perfectly. “Only cool people get ripped off” I guess if I wasn’t cool, then you wouldn’t rip me off, thanks, keep the abuse coming 😉  I did keep the Pikker-Washkansky tradition alive. I managed to find a hidden path up and down Judas Peak. Thank you for organizing the event. HBTT is the only trail event that still has the family type atmosphere. The trophies this year are superb. Maybe the person who came up with the design could get ‘1 million and two points’  Thanks for a very enjoyable day and please thank your time-keepers who help make the day special. Mark

Thanks for organising such a fun race.  Mike

Thank you AGAIN for organising this superb event! I do however blame *you* for the fact that I cannot walk this morning, two weeks did not give me enough time to train! Thank you also for your patience and waiting for us past the specified 3pm!!!! …… aaaand I did not even get points deducted or gather any abuse! You missed out! Jana

What a great day out there on Saturday….  As always, a fabulous event, and the accompanying stiff legs as a reminder… we had a fabulous time, and thank you to you and everyone else involved with organizing Triple. We will be there for sure next year, as this run is firmly entrenched as one of our very favorites on the calendar. Thanks for the lovely trophies and really lovely seeing everyone again. Jackie & Alex

Thanks to you, as always, for organizing such a fun and relaxed day. Highlight of my running year without a doubt. I was just sad not to be able to promote my sex toys this year but hopefully next year prizing giving will be back next time.  Steve

Thanks for having me. Such a fun event and great vibe. Well done. Ryan

I very much enjoyed my first HBTT, and love the spirit of the event. Thanks for all the effort you go through to make this event happen. Landie

Please don’t stop organising this. This is the best running day of the year: best people, best food, best venue, best trophies (by far), best shirts, best vibe, just the best. Then you get to the start and find you are sharing the trails with a legend: Brian Key. What a privilege! See you on the mountain. Paul

Thank you, what a great event it was! As I always say, I would rather come 5th in a competitive field than first in a weak one. I’m already looking forward to next year. Thanks again for a great event and for letting me know on such short notice. Lucas Adams

Thank you for organizing such an excellent event. Everything was perfect. I hope I will be able to attend next year again. Jana

It was an epic morning out in Hout Bay. I am really glad I was able to take part. Thank you for all your efforts. Pete

You are an absolute legend for rustling that all up in 6 weeks. Huge respect! And thanks so much for organizing it – what a lot of fun – you run a good show! Ant

Huge thanks again for another epic and very memorable edition of the Triple. I enjoyed every moment, not only of the run itself, but also relaxing afterwards with friends, and having a good laugh at your race report…Brian inspiring Mike’s new hairstyle!! And the IAAF camera on suikerbossie!!! I saw that thing and for a moment thought it would be fun to toss it into the bushes! Now that you have succeeded so well at pushing the boundaries of organisational efficiency, there can be no excuses in future…the show must go on! Its a great joy and a privilege to be a part of the TT family, and I too look forward to many more. Rupert

Thanks for accommodating me and doing such a great job organising the race.  Special race. Dom

Thanks again for organising this amazing fun run every year, it’s always a blast. Uwe

Many thanks for a great day yesterday I had a really good run and enjoyed it very much Brian

Thanks again for having us along to do Triple Trouble. Enjoyed every moment, and hope to be there next year again!! A well organised event, great camaraderie, and even lovely weather organised for the event! Super impressed with all the water/snack stops along the way, and the food/snack/liquid stop at Vida itself-BEST EVER of any race(hands down) we have ever entered-SUPER SPOILT!! A great day out indeed-love it,loved it, loved it!!! Thanks and Regards, Jackie & Alex Romanov

Many thanks for a super day Greg

Thank you once again for organizing a brilliant event. I really enjoy the family-vibe atmosphere which is missing in other trail runs. Without your volunteers the race would not be so successful. Please pass on my thanks to Lara, who spent the whole day timing us and making sure the food table was well stocked; John Domata for hydrating us along the route; JT for the fabulous t-shirts Mark P

As always, one of the bets runs on my trail calendar each year. Neil

Thanks for a stunning event!! Merril

Firstly IT WAS HOT!!!!!…. you really need to do a better job organising the weather! 😉 Seriously though, thank you once again for all the hard work putting on this awesome event, it really is quite unique in it’s family atmosphere and I am quite honoured to be invited to take part!  I guess the stunning views and the turquoise sea off Chappies make up a little bit for the heat that comes with clear skies. I can only echo your thanks to all the folk who contributed to the success of the event, it really is appreciated and please pass on my thanks too! I look forward to next year, and I hope the obstacles can be overcome and that the event can continue. Cheerio Jana

What a brilliant event! It ticked all the boxes and despite the heat was one of the memorable and friendly runs I’ve ever participated in. Thanks very much to you and Lara. Jacky

Thank you for an amazing journey what a fab day. Really enjoyed myself and if there’s anything I can do to help towards next year’s journey please shout. Thanks again to you and your team for an amazing adventure. Jamo

Congratulations to you and the rest of the team for most for once again, organizing the “Most Fun” trail event of the year. Had an absolutely great time and cannot wait for next year. Geetesh

Thank you and Lara for such a wonderful event. I absolutely loved the entire thing including the unmarked nature of the route, that participants choose their route and make the best of their decisions. Filippo

Thanks Eric, and thanks again for what is a highlight of the running year. It’s such a great event, mainly because of the work you put in, and the fact that it draws the right kind of crowd. Paul

WOW – what an incredible run!  You are a champion race organizer, crazy route creator and mad man –  and are definitely in trouble with my quads today, they are crying with every movement! Thank you for a very memorable day out there. Even the weather you ordered was superb!  Wish I had more energy to take out my phone to take photos – I really wanted a few shots but unzipping a pouch and taking it out of its waterproof bag at the time seemed like just another peak to climb. I had already begged my body to keep going up and down for “only” 3 peaks so couldn’t add anything else to the mix. Thanks for the magnificent personalized trophies!  Just another special touch to the already unique event.  We truly appreciate all the hard work and effort that goes into the planning, detail and making the day such a wonderful success. Everyone was super happy at the end – be it one, two or three peaks in the bag. I honestly think it has to be up there with one of my biggest moments of satisfaction. Starting out with 30 minutes into the run I had a wobble – heavy legs, mentally not amped and couldn’t imagine myself finishing but changed my focus and thought about what an old (as in old,  not long in time) friend had said –  the run wasn’t about time but rather about the beauty and enjoyment, and all of a sudden it became an experience and an adventure. Thanks for creating the Tripe Trouble! I may not have photos but the views and sights are safely tucked in my memory. Please thank Lara too for her support! It was great seeing her friendly face and hearing her words of encouragement! Charmaine

Well, I am not sure I am ready to say “thank you” as yet as my legs come to grips with the aftermath of Saturday’s run around the spectacular Hout Bay! I am still unable to walk down stairs and my 15 month old daughter is now totally able to run away from me as I waddle after her with my prized-penguin walk… but then, she doesn’t have a prized “survived five” nickel-plated trophy and has no idea of the sights we witnessed from those elusive little trig beacons. On a more serious note, you are a LEGEND and the trail community is indebted to you for putting on an event like this – thank you! The personal field, the insane views and surroundings, the support crew  and general happy vibe out there on the mountains takes us back to why we run in the first place… the joy of the trail (… which is incomplete without a bit of pain and suffering…) Sorry that I wasn’t able to make it back to the prize-giving afterwards… I would have loved to celebrate my fifth with a cold beverage (perhaps a brown energade with bubbles) and compare war wounds and stories with the rest of the crew but sadly other commitments prevented that. The bok result later in the day made it all the more memorable!! Alan

Thanks again for an awesome experience.  Triple will always be so special to me.  Thanks again for my special trophy its so special!! I really hope I can keep running it forever!! The organisation, the T shirts, the food, the peaks, the weather, the people, everything,  I can just go on and on. It was hot out there but wow the sea was just glistening and beautiful. As I said to you on Chapmans Peak, I’m really sad its over!!! We have to wait a whole another year!!! Brenda

Huge thanks for a an amazing day on Saturday, Triple Trouble is such a special event thanks to all your efforts and support of the team and your family, and I feel privileged and really happy to have been able to run it again. Wish I hadn’t missed out last year and hope to always take part in future. Hope to see you more often on the trails. Rupert

Many thanks to you and all your helpers who organised another fantastic race – even the weather was too well organised! I really enjoy the intimate feel of this race – the simple fact that almost everyone (including withdrawals) attends prize-giving is evidence of this! Well done for organizing and running! Alistair

Thanks again for Saturday, Eric – such an absolutely magic event, always a pleasure to run, even when one is staggering down from Chapman’s Peak with cramp…..!  Guy

Thanks again for a lekker day on Saturday. Definitely my toughest one yet…undertrained and way to hot!! Steve H

Thank you again for an absolutely amazing run! What a seriously awesome day, from the run to the awards ceremony and all the great peeps in between. I have been on cloud 9000 all week thanks to you! I look forward to seeing you on the trails!!! And will definitely be joining you all for next year’s Triple Trouble Allie

Once again you, Lara and your support team put together a memorable event on Satuday, thank you so much. Triple Trouble is such a unique special event and thank you for all you do towards it and keeping it the way it is. Frankie

Thanks for an absolutely splendid day in the mountains, over a course that is always superb and with a very fine group of people for company! My wife remarked yesterday when we got home about the special atmosphere and the really wonderful group of people at the finish – and I think that is the beauty of your event; not only is the route magic, the organisation excellent, and the price ridiculously cheap, but it seems to attract a group of people that are genuine trail runners, who love the mountains and the trails, who are always friendly and willing to slow down and greet one another, even if they are the front-runners, and who are just really good people.  All-in-all, this is a very special event on the trail-running calendar!
So, once again, thanks for organising such an awesome day out!
Best
Guy

Thanks for all the news and stunning landscape photos, surely we are the world’s most fortunate trail runners, to live amongst these wild mountains rising up out of the ocean.
Triple trouble is one of my favourite runs, along with puffer and three peaks. Thanks for the inspiration
Rupert

Thanks so much for such a super event once again! We had a very nice day out, lots of time on feet – which was just what we needed! (and I’m sure Brian couldnt agree more?! – ET)
Sonia & Brian

Thank you for the awesome race once again. You always put together a fantastic event! Well done.
Cheers
Kylie

Wow, what a wonderful race. I only found the event because I was too late to get a TMC entry – and now I’m glad that I was! I’m delighted to have done HBTT, and hope that I can plan another trip for next year’s HBTT.
Best wishes to you and all involved (whether helpers or runners).
Stuart

Thank you for your kind donation – that is a most generous and thoughtful gesture. We are most grateful that we are able to add one more donor to the registry. Please convey our sincere thanks to all those people who gave so generously and for helping make a difference.
Hope you all had a fun run.

Brilliant day out again – Thanks Eric and everyone else – loved every minute
cheers
Barry

Thanks for another great race, I almost pulled out after peak two, with extremely tight hammies and glutes, but managed to hold out with a bit of a stretch from the physio.
I’ll be back next year!
Thanks
Ryan

Thanks a mil for organising the race – it really is a fantastic race and certainly  one my favourites!
Regards
Geetesh

Thanks for organising, it was a great day out. The legs are protesting a bit today but I think they will forgive me in time for next year.
Duncan

Hi Chief Triple Trouble Maker
Awesome (somewhat slow) day out in my favourite playground on Saturday. A huge thanks for creating and enabling my annual favourite event.
Cheers
JohnD

What really makes this run special is the people involved: the organizers and helpers who just do so much without expecting anything back; and the runners who are all just out there to enjoy the day on the mountain.
Thank you so much for putting together such a special event.
Cheers
Marius

Thank you so much for the race! I had an epic time and so much fun – harder than I could have imagined, but more beautiful too!
Once again thank you, and see you next year.
Kind regards
AJ Calitz

It was an absolute privilege to have been part of HBTT 2011.
My mates have always rated it as the event of the year and I now fully understand – it is indeed a very special event and huge thanks and congrats to you for keeping to the way it is.
Best
Frankie

Thank you so much for another superb day out in the mountains, as you have said, it is refreshing to have at least one event on the “racing” calendar with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I hope to be involved with the event running (if possible and creaking joints allow!) or helping, for many years to come! If you keep on organising, I will be there!
Cheerio
Jana

Thanks so much for yet another great day out and all of your efforts in ensuring everything worked like clockwork.
Alan

Awesome stuff man. You are doing it sooo well. Thank you for another great day out.
JT

Thanks Eric for arranging yet another stunning TT event!!  It really is top of the list of all trail runs.  Lara we really missed you this year, it was strange not having your ever smiling face & laugh around the base station
Sonja

Thank you so much for the opportunity to take part in the Hout Bay Triple Trouble. I had an awesome  day and thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of the event. HBTT is a tough race but the scenic views and spirit make every second worth while. Thank you to all your helpers, without them the race wouldn’t be the same.
Kind Regards,
Mark Pikker

2010

Thanks so much for all you did to make this event possible! You have something incredibly special in this event and I think the great sense of camaraderie amongst all the runners is what made the day all the more special whilst we made our way – sometimes painstakingly so – around the rich beauty of the Hout Bay mountains. Next year I will most certainly plot the trig beacon co-ordinates into my GPS!

Also just a word of thanks to the support crew and volunteers – they were all hugely encouraging and contributed to the success of the day.

Cheers,

Alan

Thanks very much to you for a fantastic run, I really enjoyed every minute of it.  It definitely rates as no. 1 out of all the trail runs that I have done – what I really enjoyed was the fact that with such a small field, I was running by myself most of the way, and its a real priviledge to be able to do that on the mountain with the knowledge that there are always others not too far ahead and not too far behind.

I will definitely be back next year

Liz

Etiquette says I need to say “thank you”, so here goes – Please see previous four year’s emails. All that’s changed is that like a bottle of fine red, it gets better each year. The organising is great, the route is awesome, the camaraderie is special, the hand crafted memento is treasured, and the beer is cold. Seriously, Eric and Lara (behind every good man is a fine lady), Triple is the most awesome event and the highlight of my running year. Long may it be the best kept secret.

Catch you on the hills.

JohnD

Thank you once again for all the trouble you, the other organizers and volunteers went through for the rest of our benefit.

Being my first trail run, I was not sure what to expect and was in fact hesitant to participate with the last minute notification. I relied mostly on years of hiking experience, plus a few weeks of running and some tips from YouTube to get me through the day. I was pleasantly surprised at the sportsmanship displayed by all participants and really liked the fact that the enjoyment factor dominated the need for competitiveness. My kind of sport!

As with anything new, a few valuable lessons had to be learned the painful way, especially after the first two peaks when the mind was willing but the body was pretty much broken. In retrospect I should have listened to the advice of the more experienced  when energy levels were still high on Judas Peak. With more than enough encouragement from fellow participants, and sheer pigheadedness, I slogged on for the final peak … be it at a much slower pace. I really had no idea that descending a mountain and going downhill on a road could be a difficult experience. Despite the hardship towards the end, the Triple Trouble experience has shown me a new way of enjoying the mountains and you will definitely see me around on the trail running scene in future.

Trevor

Hi Eric, Lara, Sonia, Sonja, John, Michelle and anyone else connected with this amazing event.
Thanks for your efforts and for a brilliant day out – loved every moment.
This event is soon, if its not already, going to be the hottest ticket in town as most of us who do it can’t stay away.
Cheers & thanks
Barry

2010 TRIPLE TROUBLE was my 6th and I can think it’s getting easier….maybe because I know where to go…..’sort of’. Mind you we did get lost on the Suther Peak J A great training run for 3Peaks. Thank you Eric and Lara, for a super day out, AND a super SPOTPRIZE. I love the book, (Mountains in the Sea)

Till next time

Janette

Thanks for an awesome event Eric.

Sorry I didn’t complete the course – had to pull a sneaky duck as all those unexpected detours began to catch up and had to be in Somerset West at 14h00.

Great course – never run those trails before.

Great weather – nice and cool on top – well organised!

Till next time, cheers

James

Congrats on organising a great event again, maybe next year I will do all of it again.
Many thanks,
Dave

Deepest thanks for organizing the race. As usual, it was awesome…….

Regards

Geetesh

Thanks a mill & well done on the event, it was great.

You are definitely not allowed to publish that pic unless you crop it to just the shins. (anyone who wants to see this it will be posted shortly! – Eric)

I’m really keen to go on a clear day & go & meet the real Judas-I was looking at the mountain yesterday thinking, so that’s where I was meant to go.

You can def book me for next year, so let us know when entries open-I can only imagine every year 30 spots fill up quicker than the time it takes to down a cold beer on a warm HBTT.

Derrick

I was SOOO disappointed that my ankle conked out on me during the run. You know how much I LOVE Triple Trouble and I’d been really looking forward to doing it. I know I’ve only done it once before, so in effect I’m still a HBTT Junior, but because these mountains on our home turf, we (and I speak for all HB locals, ex-locals and wannabe-locals) kinda consider them to be “ours”, and as you say on your website, our very own playground. I think what probably happened is that my ankle saw Ryan just in front of me and put its foot down, so to speak…   That’ll teach me to try and keep up with The Machine on his home turf!  I survive 8 days of running in the Alps, but cave in after just 8km of HBTT.

But even for the short time I was in it, I loved it. And as usual, it was organised in true Tollner style: you and Lara are brilliant! And as for the shirt, it’s a stunner. It’s very stylish, fits perfectly and yes, I will most definitely be wearing it on the mountains

Linda

Thank you is a term so overused these days that it’s almost meaningless. I mean, you even say it to the Discovery Health “service ambassador” who has just informed you that they won’t be paying for your root canal. I wish there was another word for expressing gratitude that had more impact, but I don’t know of one, so “Thank You” will have to do! The Triple Trouble is an incredibly special event; a real gem on the trail running calendar. Thank you for keeping it going and making it what it is.

Cheers,

Mark

Thank you to you Eric for organising such a superb event, not only the organisation, but the spirit in which the event is run is just so awesome and it starts with you. Thank you to all the helpers!!!! Even the weather was just so perfect for running this year!

The trophy (very cute and has been added to my collection!), certificate and cool shirt is appreciated!

If possible I will DEFINITELY be back next year!

Cheerio

Jana

Great run as always – perfect weather, good company and great organisation. I treasure my growing Trig Beacon collection.

Thanks for another wonderful day of trail running around the Bay.

Neil

Thank you for another truly special year. We loved every second of the day. Magnificent. Thank you for allowing the huskies to come along. They reckon you organize a pretty good race!

Roger & Kylie

Thanks so much for a fantastic day!  It was awesome and a definite ‘bucket-list’ event!  Thanks to all the seconds and the amazing spread at the hotel.  An experience not to be forgotten!

Cheers

Brenda

THANK YOU for an awesome day out!!! It was loads of fun!! Thanks to Lara and you for an awesome event!!! The trophy is super cool!!!

Cheers

Ryan

It was such a thrill to be on the default side of the table for me again this year, even though it was a hard decision to make to withdraw,

What I absolutely love about seconding Triple is the great atmosphere and the sincere camaraderie between the runners – not sure that there is another event out there which offers the level of ‘lightness of spirit and soul’ that Triple does.  Thank you for setting and maintaining that tone, its just unmatched!

You also managed to blow people away with those goodie bags, as well as those stunning running tops this year – well done!!  Folk don’t understand how much effort is involved to pull these spoils together!

Hopefully my life time ban will not prevent me from running a ‘helpers run’ next year, which would then afford me to get my jollies on both sides of the table.  And newbies that need to check out the beacon locations (!!!) can tag onto which ever part of which ever leg they want to, in order to do the recce – for the price of a beer (or G& T in my case) at the finish, of course.

Sonja D

What a great day and what an incredible run yesterday. Thank you to all involved and especially to you for the kind way in which you make everyone feel so special. It is a special event and it was an absolute privilege to take part and be a part of it.

If I don’t run next year, I would love to help out wherever I can.

All the best,

Marius

Many thanks for organizing such a wonderful event today – it was really fabulous to be part of the event.  I was made to feel so welcome.  What a lovely bunch of down to earth and fun people.

We really appreciate all the awareness you are doing for us.  This is really great.

Many, many thanks

God  Bless and warm regards

thanks so much for allowing me the privilege of being able to participate in your event. I was really enjoying myself, at least until I got to the Chappies leg, and as you so correctly pointed out, if it hadn’t been for that life-saving stream, I think I might have bailed at that point. It was tough! (A salutary reminder to us, perhaps, of just why Cape Town was established in the first place – all those similar life-giving streams flowing off the mountain!) But then again, I kept telling myself ‘Hey, no-one’s making you do this!’ – it was a fantastic day out, and again as you said, the fynbos was close to its best. Is there anywhere in the world that is so accessible (relatively speaking) and that has a better view, with more dramatic plant life, than Judas Peak? Not in my life experience. How fantastic to have been able to be out there appreciating it. A special thanks too to Lara and to Michelle for the very well-equipped and well-run feeding stations – also life-savers in their way.
I hope to see you on the mountain somewhere again soon.
Best,John

Thanks again for a wonderful race, first time for me to bail on a race, but that will be motivation to train next year!!

I can only second your thanks to everyone!!!!! (especially Lara! ….. and of course that stream on Chappies, I just about climbed into it….. TWICE!!!!!) …… please pretty please pass on my thanks to everyone and this comes from a grateful and very pleased runner!!! ……. I was a bit *tired* at the finish so I don’t think I could thank everyone properly. I must say I love the way that you conduct the lucky draw and that I was lucky enough to win Chapman Peak Hotel’s restaurant voucher even whilst I was still running! It was totally unexpected, but my husband and I will certainly go and enjoy it one of these days! You just left out one person, thank you to YOU for organising such an wonderful event with such a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you very much for the entry so that I could be part of it!!!!!
What else, I absolutely love the little trophy! …. and the tiny certificate is beautiful, it will fit beautifully in my scrapbook! I hope I haven’t left anything out……. see you on the mountain! …… 3 Peaks????
Cheerio Jana
PS …. aaand the results are available already 😉 , thank you Lara for the recording!!!!!!

Once again, thanks for allowing us to be part of a very special event, playing in magnificent surrounds with great friends – we know we are very blessed.
Cheers

Eric & Lara, Thank you once again for such a great day out on our awesome mountains! Although not my best day at the office it was still so great to be out there enjoying the mountain with like-minded souls! Thank you for an awesome race once again.
Love Kylie & Dodger

Hey Eric & Lara A very big thank you again. What a superb day out – there I sit proudly – bottom of the list and on top of the world. Very happy to have finally done the triple.
Cheers & Thanks

To have organised such a wonderful annual event as Triple Trouble, a run that reflects not only the beauty of our beautiful mountains but sticks to its underlying principle (rather than be a race focusing on times like all the others , it’s a fantastic day out shared with fellow runners, packed with a rich assortment of incredible views of our beautiful valley and, from the top of each peak, the entire Cape peninsula), you’re a true king of the mountains. It really was such a privilege being able to do this run yesterday. Thank you, thank you, thank you for enabling me to run. I can honestly say it was the most enjoyable sort-of non-race (!) I’ve done on our mountains. Time and again yesterday I looked around and was flabbergasted at the beauty, the tranquillity and the harmony with nature that I felt up there. It’s moments like that, that make life so special, and remind us just how privileged we are to be able to run where we do. So a huge THANK YOU for organising the Triple! And an equally huge THANK YOU to Lara for being the absolute star that she is as Chief Operating Officer of Triple Trouble Base Camp. It’s clear from the smooth way the day unfolds that a helluva lot of work goes into organising this event, and it’s very obviously a team effort. I reckon that… The Tollner Team ROCKS! … and I know that every one of us yesterday will agree! And I ditto your thanks to Mike, Michelle and John for all their unending support and enthusiasm throughout the day – they matched the very mood of the event: they’re absolute stars!
See you on the mountains again soon J
Linda

Thanks very much indeed to you and Lara for putting on such an awesome and well-organised event! I was trying to explain to my wife last night what makes this race so special – and I think there are many reasons – the spirit and the atmosphere, as you point out in the email you sent out earlier today; the runners who take part, who are all enthusiastic, friendly and willing to help and encourage one another, no matter how hot or tired they are; the awesome trophy (my daughter had her 20th birthday party last night, and many of her friends were admiring your art work, and one of her mates ran the Table Mountain Challenge as his first trail event this year, and he is now dead keen to try and do the Triple Trouble soon); the route and the stunning views; the spot prizes; and, of course, the support at Chapman’s Peak Hotel (Lara was fantastic – I always think supporting tired runners for a whole day has to be infinitely more tiring than running the race itself, so please pass on my sincere thanks to her). Eric, once again, many thanks – I feel both privileged and proud to have finished my second Triple Trouble, and I hope to be able to do many more.
Best

Thanks so much for a great event yesterday! I really enjoyed myself for the 2 peaks I did! Sadly the legs just weren’t there on the day, but I was testing them anyway 😉
I will be back next year to complete the run for sure!

And a big thank you for keeping this event going.
Sorry for not doing full justice to you exquisite event this year.
Paul

Thank you so much! It was a great day as always! Pity about the heat but I suppose if u have everything else so well under control we can’t expect u to organise the weather as well! Please pass on our really heartfelt thanx to Lara, for those of us who participate it’s a pleasure to be able to pay back sometimes but for a nearly non runner to get up at that time in the morning + to be so cheerful + helpful throughout a long, long day ………, that takes a very special person. + I’m not even mentioning all the work that I’m sure she put in prior to + after the event!
Thanx again + c u next year!

Thanks so much for the opportunity to participate in the most amazing and awesome event I have ever been a part of. Wow, wow, wow and wow again! I think the people that participated were really special! Every time someone passed they would encourage and congratulate you, even the front runners! I think that it really is a privilege to have completed this event and I would never have been able to say that if it wasn’t for Barry who stayed with me right to the end! I must say I had a few dodgy moments on the Chapman’s where I certainly felt a bit strange (sure it was the heat).
Thanks again to all involved and I will certainly cherish my stunning trophy!
Cheers for now
Brenda

Thanks for a great morning out on Saturday. We had a fantastic time and really appreciated the awesome views. I am looking forward to seeing Just John’s pictures and whether they are as good as yours. You seem to always manage to get a great group of participants and it makes the race that much more special. I apologise for having to bugger off early but the food and wine was good at the wedding. Kylie would like rule 10 to be amended.
Cheers

Thank you to you and your team of volunteers for once again organising a very enjoyable trail and road event. The atmosphere and interaction between everybody involved in the event is special. The weather on the day enabled us to enjoy stunning views.
