Since 2005 the Triple trouble has always taken place on the first Saturday in October.
The date for the 2021 Hout Bay Triple Trouble is Saturday 2nd October.
In October 2019 we introduced a new format, as follows:
- The run will officially still take place on the first Saturday in October, however it is now also open to be run throughout the year.
- Think of the October date as kick-off for the season ahead.
- The start, finish, and format of the route (detailed below), as well as the principals and ethos of the run, will remain exactly as it always has.
- Run the route on any day of the year, and the new season will begin on the first Saturday of October.
- The October Saturday run is strictly limited in numbers to ensure a small field. Please contact me should you wish to put your name down for this.
Trophies and the Roll of Honour:
- The Triple Trouble has a strong tradition of recognising the achievements of all the finishers. In the past the entry has covered the costs of the trophy that each finisher receives, as well as having your name on the ongoing Roll of Honour.
- The existing Roll of Honour will remain in place and continue.
- If you wish to order a trophy and have your name on the Roll of Honour the cost will be R 350.
- If you wish to do this, please send through a link to your GPS track that we can also include the times.
- The fastest man and lady to receive their trophy over the course of the season will be recognised as the winner for that year. The traditional 24ct gold plated trophy will still be available to the winners (at their own expense)
- The ongoing Roll of Honour, and current results, can be found on: Hout Bay Triple Trouble Results
The Route:
- The route will remain as always: starting at the beach parking area in Hout Bay, ascending to and touching the beacons of Suther Peak, Judas Peak, and Chapmans Peak, (in that order) and returning to the beach between each. The clock starts when you leave for Suther Peak, and stops when you return from Chapmans Peak.
